I've been working up here in Novato for roughly 6 months and Italian Delite is one of my go-tos for lunch. The sandwiches are affordable, delicious, and consistent. They have been serving the Novato community for about 20+ years and boy do they do an awesome job. The portions are very generous, as a half sandwich is typically a full sandwich elsewhere, and for a price of a whole, you basically have two sandwiches for the price of one elsewhere.
I typically go for the delite assortment sandwich. There is a variety of meat on the sandwich: ham, salami, and turkey. It is by far my favorite one.
I have also tried the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it's superb as well. The beef is super juicy and they with a layer of cheese over it, your mouth will be drooling with every bite.
Overall, their atmosphere is pretty good. Seating can be limited, but there is plenty of space for parking around, so if you don't mind eating in your car (which I don't recommend) that option is available.
Lastly, every sandwich comes with hot sauce if requested and I highly highly recommend it. -

I had the cheesesteak (full sandwich, which is huge), and I ordered a meatball sub for my daughters.
The cheesesteak was generally disappointing, though the hot sauce on top was a good addition.
I didn't enjoy the flavor of the meatballs, and I got one of my daughters to eat some of the remaining sandwich after removing them.
Price is inexpensive, which is great, but the food quality isn't there. I also didn't really enjoy the bread roll, I removed the top part and just ate my sandwich open-faced. -

Yeah, five star sandwich shop.
The fries - homestyle, amazing. I'd go there just for the fries.
Meatballs. Like nonna's. Flavorful, spicy, tomato sauce's best friend
Philly cheese steak - i had the 1/2 size, can't imagine completing the big one.
No wonder everyone in Novato raves about this place. The kitchen staff goes out of their way to create exactly what you want, so if you don't see it on the menu ask for it.
Prices are extremely reasonable. My wife HATES sandwich shops but loves this place. Go figure. -

The spaghetti was surprisingly great! I would highly recommend it. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is great!

I'm not drawlin' ovah here but what is youse talkin about with these high ratings? This is not a proper Italian deli. I must be honest and what I got when I stopped by for the first time I could have gotten from the frozen section of a local supermarket. I made the mistake of going with the Philly cheese steak sub. I should have known better, and listened to some of the other Yelpers who felt the same, that the cheese steak sandwich was disappointing. Not enough meat, too much peppers, and not the right cheese. The only thing decent was the bread. The fries were the only saving grace but I came to a deli rated at 4.5 stars expecting great product, instead I ended up disappointed. I don't know if their other sandwiches would fare better, but I'm not willing to play that game of roulette. As always, this is all based on my palette which might be jaded so take what I say with a grain of salt.
